The Fat Quarter Shop hosts a mystery block of the month club each year starting in June. The past two years it has been done out the of 3 Sisters Christmas lines. Peace on Earth and Glace', as I've said before, I love all things Moda especially if its 3 Sisters. So of course I signed up and have been collecting the blocks each month. I say collecting because this is currently the state they are in.
Peace on Earth Blocks
Glace' Blocks
Currently my blocks of the month are stored in a bag in the state they arrived. And each month when the next one arrives Mike asks me once again to cancel this subscription. (I can't cancel in the middle)....
Come June, the new block of the month will be starting. I had decided against it. I haven't signed up. But I scored one of these charm packs. It was a sneak peek at this new Christmas line.
12 days of Christmas by Kate Spain. Kate's designs are quickly becoming one of my new favorites. Ranks right up there with 3 Sisters. This is so fun and whimsical. How could a girl not fall in love?
Guess what the new block of the month is going to be out of? Click here to find out. I'm loosing my willpower. I feel I may just have to give in.

Unconditional Love
“Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.”

Glace'
If you sew or love fabrics, you have probably heard of the company Moda. I am in love with Moda fabrics. Specifically with anything that is designed by 3 Sisters. I usually buy yards and bundles of each of their lines. Their Christmas line this last year was called Glace'. I fell in love all over again. What I love most about this line is that it doesn't scream Christmas.
The week after Christmas it went on sale for 50% off. So of course I went and loaded up on yardage and layer cakes. The next day it went on sale for 70% off. I went back for more. (Could this be why my husband thinks I have an addiction?) Needless to say, I have a lot of quilts to create using this line.
Here are two that I'm currently working on. Both are patterns from Crazy Old Ladies.
This pattern is called Stack of Three. It takes a layer cake and a little yardage for the border. I cut and had these blogs sewn in about an hour. This is a really fast cute pattern!
Here is an idea of what it will look like once its sewn together.
The picture above is strips from a jelly roll sewn together. I will be cutting this one up to make the pattern Postage Due.
Both of these patterns use Moda precuts and go together quickly.
I'll post my pictures as I progress with them. I took the weekend off from these do work on a copy of quilts out of the Verna line by Kate Spain for Moda. Can't wait to show you those!

Quick and EASY Baby Blankets
My sister Whitney came up with an idea for a baby blanket a few years back. She loves to just take a piece of cute fabric, pair it with minky and then quilt it together. No batting or anything in between. Its the perfect weight and size to bundle a newborn. It took me awhile to get use to the idea of quilting something without batting. The quilt doesn't always lay perfectly flat once its quilted, but it does have a good weight to it. Here is one of my latest creations using this method.
Fabric is Wonderland by MoMo - its Moda of course.
Another baby blanket project I recently worked on was one made by Moda's presewn patchwork fabric. I LOVE this fabric. I try to buy a yard or two everytime I see it. Its fabric squares already sewn together, so the work is done for you. I've added borders to the fabric in the past, but I also just like to pair it with minky and quilt it. Makes a great throw or little baby quilt. This one is done, just needs to be bound.
Fabric is Aviary by 3 Sisters of Moda
One last baby blanket I want to start. My son Jake is obsessed with robots. I found this fabric. Trying to think of something cute to do with it. Any ideas?
Take me to your leader.....

Happy Easter
We had a fun Easter Saturday. My mom and dad hosted a brunch/Easter Egg Hunt. Since Jake is the only grandchild of the right age in the state he is the center of attention.
Grama and Grandpa hide Easter eggs all over the house for Jake to find and we all followed him around to watch. After he found each egg he would say "is it over yet?" or "am I done?" or "that's a great egg." It was pretty funny to watch.
We also colored eggs yesterday with Whit and Jason.
Jake left them in his and Sam's baskets and this morning woke up to find all his eggs had been hidden! He didn't have any time to look for them because he was too excited about the robot the Easter Bunny had left him. Nothing else in his basket has even been looked at. Not even the chocolate eggs he's been begging me for everyday!
Other then Jake having a very bad cold and fever, its been a pretty fun weekend. Good food, fun family times, and eggs of all types!
Thanks mom and dad for a great hunt and breakfast!
