April Showers Jelly Filled

A few months back I saw the cutest Jelly Filled quilt on @saracecilquilts Instgram feed (BTW if you don't have one of her ladders yet - GET one!  They are great!).  She made her's out of April Showers and I knew I had to make one just like it!

I started cutting 3 - yes 3 - Halloween, Christmas, and April Showers.  I love this pattern.  Takes 1 jelly roll and some yardage for borders.  I made a scrappy one a month or two back for my sister and didn't add borders.  Its a great fast quilt if you need a gift too!

Out of the 3 I have my April Shower's quilt sewn, quilted and bound.  Eerie is close behind.

I used a newer quilting design called Water Drops

And used my favorite navy polka dot for the big big border!  Add a little stripe binding (I LOVE all these stripes from April Showers)

And the cute umbrella print for the back - and I have myself my new favorite quilt!

This was a sneak peak on Instagram.  So glad I have a finished quilt for me!  I can't remember the last time I finished a bigger quilt for myself.

I was wrapped up watching the Bachelor finale in it all night long!

Client Quilts

I found a draft blog from APRIL - that I can't find that I posted - swore I did, so sorry if this is a repeat - but I like to document as many quilts as I can so I remember them all!

Kathy or Marshas (they bring the same quilts!)
Loops and stars - love anything with a chain!

Marsha's Hexie quilt - using Modern Ties

Loved this backing!

Emily's cute chevron quilt - love the up and down instead of side to side - nice change up!

Loops and Swirls which is still one of my all time favorite simple patterns.
I LOVED her backing - I'm so in to fun backings right now and this one was WAY cute.

Emily's 2nd quilt was a fun Halloween one - her neighborhood quilt group all made these and it has been so fun to see how they've ended up so different!

She used Trick o Treat
Loved it on the minky back!

Lora Ann sent this fun football quilt.

She chose Geometric
How fun is this football backing!

This next quilt was so striking and bright!

She picked Spiral Squares

Christine brought me this Scrumptious quilt which she almost didn't get back.  Can I just say - I like this line when it came out, but it wasn't my favorite.  After quilt 10 - 20 quilts in this line - I now have to make 10 -20 quilts and it is one of my MOST favorite lines.  I love EVERYTHING out of this line!

Christine chose Tickle - This is such a great pattern - especially for the younger generation girls!
Loved the fun pieced backing!
Sherri - brought me 8 of these quilts - YES 8.  She makes these for all the girls on the Brighton Drill team?  Dance team? I can't remember which one - but they are the cutest t-shirt quilts I've seen!  I have another one on my machine as we type.

She does the backs all in a stripe fashion which is like a reversible quilt which I love!  She chose Posies 2 and it looks great on this quilt (I think we've done like 15 now - and it still looks great!)

Kathy brought me a batch of quilts and told me to quilt whatever I wanted.  This usually stresses me out a bit - but I've been quilting a lot of Kathy's quilts over the years and I know her fairly well which made it so much fun!

I used Butterfly Garden on this one.

Another one of Lora Ann's quilts.  I think the pattern is Turning 20 to make an I spy quilt - so much fun!

She chose Loops and stars

Brooke made this fun chevron quilt (same pattern as Christine's above) and I love the polka dot background!

She used Tickle also - such a good pattern for these chevron quilts.

Another fun backing!

Hope this wasn't a repeat but I had to make sure these are posted.  Such beautiful quilts!

Modern Building Blocks Kit

If you have seen any pictures from Spring Market - you had to have seen this amazing Modern Block quilt - made by the team at Moda.  It uses all Bella Solid fabrics and is amazing!

I am horrible at BOM clubs.  I have several - all the blocks and not one has been completed.  I love the idea, but I never follow through very well.  When I saw this I knew I had to change that.  I love this quilt and love the blocks.  What a fun, different combo from what I'm usually use to.  I love how there are big blocks and small blocks.  I love the solids - and it is a little out of my comfort zone which we all need to do now and then!

So I quickly ordered up some kits.  I don't have many to go around - and I'm sure there will be Quilt Alongs (a few of us have even talked about putting one together) - so if you're at all interested get your quilt while you can!  I heard these babies flew at market!

Picture taken by Nicole Lorenz
I am offering the kit at a discounted price of $135 (retail is $150).  If you are interested - and would like to preorder to ensure you get one - I require a $25 non-refundable deposit.  I send the invoice through my Quick Books program  or Paypal if requested- and the balance must be paid before I ship the kit (obviously).  You can make payments (whatever amount you choose and when) or you can pay the rest in a lump sum.  I have been told they will ship in September - not sure if its beginning or end - but I'll email you and let you know as soon as they are on their way.

Modern Building Blocks Quilt Kit featuring Bella Solids by Moda is boxed and cut by Moda and includes all the fabric needed for the top and binding.

Quilt measures 84 x 96 inches

Patterns for all 47 quilt blocks are included on cards with the kit.

Don't miss out on this amazing quilt and all the fun I'm sure we will have on Instagram with our blocks!
Email me at abby(at)latimerlane(dot)com if you are interested.

Menu Mondays

I've started the Couch to 5k program - so that maybe in the near future I can run a mile without dying by the end.

So in honor of trying to shed some pounds and become an healthier me - I should probably start with a better diet.  I'm not a big dieter - I need to take the coke out - but other then that I'm starting with eating at home - which always makes me eat a little healthier and I control my portions.  So these meals may needs seem healthier - but they are better than a cheeseburger!

Monday - Pesto Chicken, fruit, and salad
Tuesday - French Dip Croissants
Wednesday - Chicken Tortilla Stack
Thursday - BBQ chicken on rolls
Friday - Tuna Melts

Also need to use what I have on hand!

Hope you all have a good week.

Round and Round Quilt - Christmas in July Ideas

If you were on Instagram towards the end of last year - you may have noticed a fun quilt along that went on involving the Round and Round quilt pattern.  (look up #roundandroundalong for some serious inspiration)

I started my own version out of Aspen Frost by Basic Grey (look similar to 25th and Pine) and will be picking it back up to finish one of these days.

This is such a fun easy quickish pattern - I thought it would be fun to kit a few up using Solstice.

I was lucky enough to quilt up Thelmas Round and Round last year.  She used Kate Spain fabrics and it was one of my favorites that crossed my steps.

I was thinking how much fun it would be to make one out Kate's line Solstice from this year using the tonal white snowflake.

If you're interested I have a few kits - Kit includes:
2 Charm Packs Solstice by Kate Spain
4 3/4 yard Solstice Snow background
3/4 yard Red tonal binding
$65.00

If you'd prefer just charms I have those - and if you need backing I have a few options of that too - just shoot me an email abby (at) latimerlane (dot) com if you're interested!

Client Quilts

Lots of pictures today - I'll let them do most the talking!

First up this cute quilt Judy made with Red Hat fabric.

We used Flapper Hats which is perfect for this!

This next HUGE king sized quilt was done by Peggy and she wanted Chantilly Lace.  It took a long time - but was worth it in the end.  Love this pattern!

Marilyn made this Jelly Roll Race quilt out of lowish volumes.

She picked Popcorn which is a fun texture pattern - looks good on everything.

Anne Marie brings me such fun quilts.  I am always amazed by those who can just go grab random fabrics (outside of a line) and they look so good.  I love how random and fun these fabrics and pattern are.
I chose Target on this one - and we both loved how it turned out!

Her next quilt was similar just a bright palette

We used Lace on this one.

This H quilt was so fun - done in PB& J fabrics (with a few others thrown in)
We did Candyland on this one.

This next one is Debbie's which she made for her granddaughter.  So sweet and I loved the purple fabric.  She wanted a light custom job done on it.

Echoed the motifs a few times.

I fun breezy block in the pinwheel to give it movement.

I LOVE this flower border, with some loops in the stop border.

and the back - I don't do a lot of custom, so I'm always nervous and always glad when they are done - but I really loved how this one turned out.

I loved this next quilt from Elizabeth.  It may just be the best scrappy quilt I've seen yet.  Just rows of scraps different widths and random colors.  With a row of random blocks.

She chose the Feathered Wave - which I LOVE on this quilt.  It adds such great wavy texture to a quilt.
And I really loved this cute backing she used - such a fun quilt.
Next up is a quilt called Gingham Rose maybe?  It was original done using the Gingham Rose fabric which is the line by 3 Sisters that got me into quilting.  I still love this line to this day and would DIE if Moda would reprint.

I made this pattern myself for sale here - using Vienna Nights fabrics - but I gotta be honest - love this one even more.

The gingham border - just kills me!

And this cute floral backing - seriously - the quilt pattern used is Feathered Garden which is perfect for this quilt - but so hard to see in my dark kitchen!
Jenene made this cute quilt and we used Baptist Fan

Kathy made this fun and more modern quilt - and I love the yellow and black!

She chose Daisy and Loops which looked so cool on this fun chevron minky backing!
Debbie sent this fun school quilt - I have to say I LOVE the different colored borders.  I love seeing people do things out of the box and have such fun results.  I have to remember to do this on a quilt!

She chose Color Me - which is very fitting.

I say this often - but I love the inspiration that comes through the door each day!  So fun and honored to get to work on all your quilts!
