Dear Mr Claus Quilt #2

I am SO behind in posting client quilts.  That is my goal for these last few weeks - to show you all the beautiful quilts I have been working on.

My excuse for not posting is because I've been swimming in quilts to be quilted!  I can't believe how many of these quilts I want to make!  Problems of a longarmer - I need to search for fabric and add quilts to my to do list!  I even asked one of my clients how much she'd sell me a quilt...I mean really this is becoming a problem.

But I have been editing the pictures I take - and am throwing together some posts as I have SO many fun quilts to share with you all.

This quilt I'm sharing today has been in the works for awhile.  Ever since I made this quilt for Marta last year my sister Whitney has wanted one of her own.  I gave her a layer cake for her birthday - in FEBRUARY.  Telling her the quilt would be ready by Christmas.

I made it just in time!  Who knew a quilt would take 10 months to make!  I didn't love this fabric at first, but it has grown on me, and I really love this quilt.  I used the Double Slice tutorial from Missouri Quilt Star.  I would say this has been the pattern of the year for me.  Uses just 1 layer cake, is scrappy looking, quick and easy to throw together.  Perfect go to quilt pattern if you need a quick gift.  (Or a gift that takes 10 months to make)

I quilted this using the Glacee pattern.  Probably my most favorite Christmas pattern I have.

I love it even more on minky - I think I need just a quilt of this!

Glad to have one more quilt checked off the to do list!

Winners of Giveaway Day!

It was so much fun to read all your answers!  I'm going to tally them up and let you all know what precut won!  I so appreciate you all stopping in to say hi.

Here are the winners!

I used random generator to get me the numbers.

For the Aspen Frost Layer Cake - the number was 158 and the winner is Bee who said
"layer cakes and the mini charms! so hard to resist... "

I couldn't agree more - I am gathering quite a collection of those mini charms these days too!

For the High Streets Table Runner - the number was 13 and the winner is Kim who said
"I love fat quarters because they're big enough for a ton of projects."

I love fat quarters too - I used to buy fat quarter of everything!  I'm trying to get better now and only buy what I need for a project because I have bins full of fat quarters!

I have emailed you both - please send me your address to get your prize!

Thanks so much for stopping in!

Giveaway Day - Runner and Layer Cake

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping in.  If you're new here from Sew Mama Sew, Welcome!

I saw giveaways all over blogland and Instagram and wanted to join in on the fun.  For those of you that are new - let me introduce myself.

A am a mom to 2 crazy little boys ages 6 and 4.  They are my whole world.  In an effort to find a way to spend more time with them and quit my day job - I jumped head first into a Long Arm Quilting business last year.  Latimer Lane Quilting.  I would say this last year has been crazy!  Busy, hard, so rewarding, and so inspirational. The problem with being a long arm quilter - I want to make all the quilts that come through my door!

I have been offering a special of $.01 per inch this last year.  Before I owned a machine, it was so hard to find a good quilter at decent prices.  I love this sewing hobby we all enjoy.  But after spending $100+ on fabric for the top - I didn't want to go and do it again for the quilting.  My special is coming to an end with the end of the year - but I will always keep a nice selection of patterns at $.01 an inch - and my overall pricing will still stay low.  My highest prices will be what most start their edge to edge pricing at!

If you're interested - please contact me - if I have you on my schedule before the end of the year - I will still honor the special pricing - even if we don't get to your quilt until January.  Check out all my patterns and information here.

I am also starting to sell fabric on a small scale over at my Etsy store Gracie Lane Quilts.  I sell finished products as well as kits and precuts.  I am adding more over the next few months so please check back.

NOW to the giveaway.  What you all really want me to get to!  I am offering 2 Giveaways.

First up -

This cute little table runner made out of High Streets by Lily Ashbury for Moda.  I love this line - and the grey fabric was my favorite piece hands down.  I love how the orange border makes it pop!  The runner measures 10 x 28 and perfect for just about any area.  Quilted with a simple crosshatch.

Second up -

A layer cake of Aspen Frost by Basic Grey for Moda.  I LOVE this line - and have a few projects in the works using these layer cakes.  This would make a great gift for someone - or give you a head start on next years project (unless you're super fast and can finish something in a week!)

To win - leave me a comment telling me what your favorite precut of fabric is.  Layer Cakes? Jelly Rolls?  Charms?

Will ship to anyone within North America.  Winner will be announced by December 15th.

Thanks Sew Mama Sew for hosting this day - so fun!

Five and Dime Quilt - Maison de Noel - FOR SALE

The Masion de Noel line by 3 Sisters is about 6 or so years old.  Hands down one of my most favorite lines of fabric EVER.  I mean EVER.  I have made several quilts from this line - and I still have a bin fun.  See a few of my favorites here.

This pattern is called Five and Dime by All Washed Up.  I love this pattern and have made it a few times see here and here.  I think it is a great way to show case large pieces of fabric.  Which is why I started quilting in the first place - I love the fabric!
It was a gloomy day and very little light - these pictures do not do this quilt justice!  To be honest - I have no idea when I sewed this quilt.  Probably 5 years ago - its been hanging in my closet to be quilted for a long while!

I finally pulled it out to try Denali on it about a year ago.  I love this quilt pattern so much.

For the backing I used the red paisley - one of my favorites - and bound it with a red/green plaid on the bias fabric.  That binding fabric is my most favorite binding I think I've EVER used!  I finally got it bound last week when we drove back and forth to Lake Tahoe.  A nice 8 hour drive each way - left me with a few completed projects!

Here it is on display - and then I decided - I have a few Christmas quilts - so maybe I'll trying sharing the love I have of these fabrics with others.

So I listed it in my shop.  If you're interested go here.

Happy Birthday Sam

My baby is 4 years old today!  Can you believe my youngest is 4?  It feels like just yesterday I was pregnant - begging the doctor to take him out of me!  But he wouldn't budge.  When they delivered him C-Section he was breech - which tells me he would have stayed camped out a little longer had I let him.
He is a momma's boy - and I'll admit it - I love it!

Sam is an all or nothing kind of kid.  He's all in or he's out.  He has the strongest personality I've ever come across.  And he's always been this way.  He's strong willed, stubborn, demanding.  All traits that are sometimes hard to deal with in a toddler - but I know - watch out world - as he grows and gets older - these traits will push him through life and he will be a strong man.

My baby is wild and crazy - but has the sweetest heart.  He loves to cuddle and be held.  He still wants me to sleep by him "the whole time" as he says to me every night when I tuck him into bed.  He has a hard time expressing his emotions - when he does something that hurts someone else's feelings or hurts them (by accident) he gets so upset.  He has such a tender heart and loves the people in his life so much.

As he grows up - every day we have  conversations that makes me laugh.  He tells me about his dreams, about what would "be so funny", about what he wants to do with "me, and dad, and Jake, and you mom".  He is shy and timid, yet fearless and strong - I realize these things contradict each other, but it is true - and he sometimes has 2 personalities (should I be worried?)

This boy is my heart - he is so animated and fun.  So full of life and wants to live every single minute (as long as someone holds his hand).  He completed our family - and has made my world so much more and keeps me on my toes.  He is my special Sammy - and I only hope he stays a momma's boy for years to come.

Today - like most days- I'm going to let him rule the roost and do anything he wants!

Happy Birthday Sam - Love you SOOOOOOOO much.

Star Kissed Quilt for Sale

Remember this quilt?

It's one of my all time favorite Christmas quilts I've ever made.  I used Kate Spain's 12 Days of Christmas and quilted fun snowflake design.  I.LOVE.THIS.QUILT.

As I got thinking of what Christmas quilts I should display this year - I have 2 new ones I've made over the last 12 months and have a few from the past that are still favorites.  So I decided to let this one go.  I thought if I'm not going to display it, it needs to be in a home and loved!

If you're interested - head on over here to look.  It would make a great gift too!

Hope you're enjoying this holiday week and getting ready for Thanksgiving and Holiday decorating!
