Schnibbles - Lincoln

I'm so excited to be able to submit a quilt for the Schnibbles parade that Sherri and Sinta put on!  Its a little bit of a cheater - since I actually had it done awhile back - but I finally got it quilted and bound this month!

Each month I love the pattern chosen and swear I'm going to make one - and each month I watch the parade pass me by not having gotten anywhere close to starting the project yet finishing it - so I'm thrilled to be able to participate this month!

I saw this quilt awhile back - and knew I had to have my own fall version.  I love the blacks, oranges, and purples in this quilt.

I have been working on a big quilt at that same time that is still in progress - after whipping this one out quickly I don't know what is taking me so long with the big one!  I got this one done in a few days.  Originally the star blocks were bright white - I tea dyed them so they wouldn't stand out so much.  I really like how it turned out.

I pulled the backing from my stash - which I love when I can do!  I got it on sale and have had it for YEARS!

I used Harvest Time to as the quilting pattern - and am so happy with how it turned out - and that its done!  And in time for the fall season.  I'm not always ahead of the game like this!

I've just uploaded new patterns - so take a look at this post for all my longarm service details.

Thanks Sherri and Sinta for hosting this month - SO EXCITED to see the big  reveal of the new pattern for August!!!!!

Upcoming Projects

I totally need to get back on my path of Swoon blocks and BOM catch up - but I saw this quilt a few weeks ago when we were in St George and fell in love.

I've order the layer cakes and this will be on my list in the near future.  The pattern is Plan C from a Miss Rosie Schnibbles book.  I have wanted to make this quilt ever since I saw Sherri's Plan C a few years ago.  I immediatley went out and bought the layer cakes and charm packs to make my version of her same quilt.  I then ran into this one made out of 12 Days of Christmas and of course had to have my own just like this.  So with the new addition of the one above - I'm now up to 3 Plan C quilts.  Maybe I can chain piece and make them all together at the same time.

Obviously I'm loving this pattern as most quilts I see made from this pattern I LOVE!  Could it be the stars?  Either way I'm loving this Mama Said Sew line.  Currently I have the makings for 4 quilts out of it.  Why do I find the need to keep buying the same fabric line over and over again?  I vowed to not add to my collection and to move onto the next thing.  Wish me luck!

WIP Wednesdays

I've got the middle section of my Lincoln Schnibbles done.  Loving how it turned out.  I'm going to add a purple tiny stop border and a black outer border and then quilt this puppy up.  Hope to complete before next Wednesday.

I've been cleaning my sewing room and organizing my fabric the last month or two.  Almost to a stopping point.  Can't wait to show you the progress.  AMAZING what having the fabric out and right in front of you to help put a dent in the stash.  Since moving to this new storage system I've been using up my long last yardage.  I even found some blocks I started about 7 years ago that I threw together for a baby quilt the other night!

There are few quilts I have on my to do list - I'm getting in the Christmas mood.
- Granny Squares out of Joy
- Grace Lucky Stars quilt
- Blizten Hubble quilt
- My 3 Stars out of Hollywood and Vine
- Plan C from 12 Days of Christmas
- Vintage Holiday

All are Christmasy fabrics and most are stars....do I have an issue with stars?  I LOVE THEM!  I feel like every pattern I look at lately has stars involved!  Do you think I can get them all done?  The race has started....

My First Schnibbles

So maybe I cheated just a little going with the easiest Schnibbles project I could find.  I've been a lover of Miss Rosie's patterns for years now, but have to admit all the piecing sometimes scares me and I procrastinate.  I made the Flea Market quilt a few years ago and it took me about 4 months to cut the darn thing out!  It is still my very favorite quilt though.

So I decided to jump into another smaller project.  I love pin cushions, and love the schnibbles pin cushions whenever I see them.  So I went with the easiest pattern in the lot and whipped this up.  I mean it was 11pm at night on Sunday - so I should get props for starting a project so late at night right?

It was quick, easy, painless process.  I'll be stitching up a few more in the up coming weeks!  I love the way this turned out.
