Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping in. If you're new here from Sew Mama Sew, Welcome!
I saw giveaways all over blogland and Instagram and wanted to join in on the fun. For those of you that are new - let me introduce myself.
A am a mom to 2 crazy little boys ages 6 and 4. They are my whole world. In an effort to find a way to spend more time with them and quit my day job - I jumped head first into a Long Arm Quilting business last year. Latimer Lane Quilting. I would say this last year has been crazy! Busy, hard, so rewarding, and so inspirational. The problem with being a long arm quilter - I want to make all the quilts that come through my door!
I have been offering a special of $.01 per inch this last year. Before I owned a machine, it was so hard to find a good quilter at decent prices. I love this sewing hobby we all enjoy. But after spending $100+ on fabric for the top - I didn't want to go and do it again for the quilting. My special is coming to an end with the end of the year - but I will always keep a nice selection of patterns at $.01 an inch - and my overall pricing will still stay low. My highest prices will be what most start their edge to edge pricing at!
If you're interested - please contact me - if I have you on my schedule before the end of the year - I will still honor the special pricing - even if we don't get to your quilt until January. Check out all my patterns and information here.
I am also starting to sell fabric on a small scale over at my Etsy store Gracie Lane Quilts. I sell finished products as well as kits and precuts. I am adding more over the next few months so please check back.
NOW to the giveaway. What you all really want me to get to! I am offering 2 Giveaways.
First up -
This cute little table runner made out of High Streets by Lily Ashbury for Moda. I love this line - and the grey fabric was my favorite piece hands down. I love how the orange border makes it pop! The runner measures 10 x 28 and perfect for just about any area. Quilted with a simple crosshatch.
Second up -
A layer cake of Aspen Frost by Basic Grey for Moda. I LOVE this line - and have a few projects in the works using these layer cakes. This would make a great gift for someone - or give you a head start on next years project (unless you're super fast and can finish something in a week!)
To win - leave me a comment telling me what your favorite precut of fabric is. Layer Cakes? Jelly Rolls? Charms?
Will ship to anyone within North America. Winner will be announced by December 15th.
Thanks Sew Mama Sew for hosting this day - so fun!
Layer cakes I use them alot
ReplyDeleteFat quarters are my favorite, but I also love charm packs. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI like FQs and charms
ReplyDeleteHmm, I would say layer cakes of the choices given. I prefer yardage or FQs though, b/c then I have plenty to get to when (not if but when) I need to make a second block due to mistakes! :)
ReplyDeleteI like charm packs. I get to play with the entire line of fabric for about $10 :).
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying minicharms for hexie work.
ReplyDeleteI love layer cakes!
ReplyDeleteLayer cakes lend me so many possibilities! Cute looking family!
ReplyDeleteI love jelly rolls - they make such fast & beautiful quilts. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI love jelly rolls because one will make a nice size lap quilt.
ReplyDeleteLayer cakes and fat quarters are my favorites. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm a gigantic layer cake fan. JUST enough most of the time!
ReplyDeleteBree.mcelroy@me.com
I am not a huge fan of precuts though I have made a few things out of each listed (all things I have won) I prefer to use fat quarters as I like to do things out of non traditional sizes. But if I had to pick it would be jelly rolls.
ReplyDeleteI love all precuts, but if you looked at my stash, you would see a lot of jelly rolls!
ReplyDeleteI love charms and layer cakes if you're looking at packaged precuts. Although I like buying fabric in 1/2 yd cuts when I see something I like. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love jelly rolls, mostly because I hate cutting strips.
ReplyDeleteLove charm packs
ReplyDeleteI love using charm packs. I've made dozens of purses using charm packs. They make matching colors so easy.
ReplyDeleteHa! That's a good question. I started collecting jelly rolls, next came layer cakes which I still love and most recently I've been collecting the 5" charm packs. They all seem to have a place.
ReplyDeleteI like charm packs. If there is fabric I like more (or a line I love) I"ll get FQs.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite precuts are fat quarters.
ReplyDeleteI love layer cakes. I can use them as is, or cut them up into charms. So versatile.
ReplyDeleteI find charms to be crazy fun. Lots of eye candy for relatively little money!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pre-cut is a layer cake.
ReplyDeleteI've only used fat quarters but I'd like to branch out to jelly rolls.
ReplyDeleteIf I don't have a specific project in mind yet I get one or two charm packs of the lines I really like. Sometimes just seeing it all in person spurs me on to buy a LC or JR.
ReplyDeleteCharm squares so far.
ReplyDeleteI love layer cakes!
ReplyDeleteI like layer cakes: you can do so much with them: strips, squares, triangles, even big circles!!
ReplyDeleteI like working with layer cakes. It seems like I have more design options with them, and they show off a large scale print nicely, too.
ReplyDeleteprobably Jelly rolls, my strips are never that precise and I so appreciate not having to cut them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't used many precuts, but I think Layer Cakes are the most versatile for sure. I'd love to win -- thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI like Fat quarters and Jelly Rolls. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI prefer fat quarter bundles....but layer cakes are more budget friendly.
ReplyDeleteCharms, but all pre-cuts are incredible time savers!
ReplyDeleteI've only ever bought pre-cut FQs. It would be fun to try some other sizes :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer FQ bundles but Jellyrolls are nice too :)
ReplyDeleteI think the layer cakes are great, but I've worked with charm squares too--so easy! Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love any precut but i tend to use Charms most often.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance.
I've not started sewing yet so I don't have a fave as I am still gathering materials and supplies to start/learn. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the size of layer cakes - very handy and versatile. But charm packs are great too.

ReplyDeleteLove layer cakes the best, and charm packs come a close second.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I like jelly rolls. I am currently obsessed with hexies and it is so easy to may 2.5 squares with jelly rolls. :) Thanks for the chance to win. Too bad you don't live closer to quilt my things for such a good price.

ReplyDeleteI love jelly rolls, but I'm beginning to love charm packs, too.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely blog! I love the runner - the orange is fabulous! For me, I like Layer Cake - more diverse I think! thanks!
ReplyDeleteCharms are my favorite pre-cut. I've also used a couple of layer cakes, though.
ReplyDeleteI've never used pre-cut material; my nearest fabric store is, depending on how you figure, Wal-Mart (30 miles, round trip, across a couple of mountains) or Joann's (70 miles, round trip and across a mountain).
ReplyDeleteI love layer cakes! Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteIts probably a tie between layer cakes & charm packs! I seem to have quite a collection of those! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI seem to buy charm packs and fat quarters most. Probably because a can pickup a little at a time.
ReplyDeleteI am all about layer cakes. Use them all the time ;)
ReplyDeleteI love them all - fat quarters are usually the go to but the ease of precuts is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how far I can stretch a layer cake! This size pre-cut is adaptable to many block sizes.
ReplyDeleteI think I like precut jellies best. I always seem to have trouble cutting strips exactly so they're great for me.
ReplyDeleteLayer cakes or charm packs
ReplyDeleteI like jelly rolls the best.
ReplyDeleteI've only worked with charm packs, but sometimes I find it isn't quite enough! I'd love to try a layer cake!
ReplyDeleteJelly Rolls all the way.
ReplyDeleteThere's not a pre cut I didn't like .. I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI love layer cakes. I think they are the most versatile of the bunch. So if I love a line but don't have a particular pattern in mind I buy a layer cake. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI use a lot of charm packs and layer cakes. Thanks for the chance I really like your table runner, good luck with your quilting business
ReplyDeleteOoh I love that fabric line too. Although I have only ever bought 2 and haven't used either of them yet I think I like charm packs the best, since they don't break the bank but give you some great options for quilt making.
ReplyDeleteI love charm packs-so easy to make patchwork squares or half square triangles! Thanks so much for the chance to win! Yay!
ReplyDeleteLayer cakes!
ReplyDeleteI've never bought any of them! Crazy I know, I'm sure it would help with some of my wonkiness! Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI don't use precuts much...but when I have it's been charms or jelly rolls.
ReplyDeleteI like layer cakes.
ReplyDeletei would love to win the layer cake. i only make charity quilts and could make big blocks out of this. since i am low income and cant afford fabric. thank you babscorbitt@gmail.com

I love jelly rolls with cozy quilt patterns. fast and fun
ReplyDeleteI like jelly rolls- made some quick 1600 quilts with jelly rolls this year!
ReplyDeleteI love layer cakes. I also love the hard to find dessert rolls. 5 inch strips come in handy.
ReplyDeleteI like charms, if I just want to see what the fabric looks like, but I like buying layer cakes if they are $30 or less, if I know I just love the whole fabric line.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteActually, I love the 2 1/2" mini charms by Moda. I can get some great ideas flowing with those small squares, and having the whole pack of them is so much fun because you get cuts of each fabric in the line. If you haven't tried them, I recommend that you do!
I'm a self-taught quilter, and still kind of in the beginner level of things, so I love fat quarters. I find them really easy to work with, and really easy to cut down to size to make smaller squares if I want. I've also been a huge fan of your blog - which I found totally randomly - for about three years now!
ReplyDeletelayer cakes.
ReplyDeleteI have only worked with Charms, so for now, they are my favorites. They make up fast and are always fun fabrics. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteFat quarter bundles.
ReplyDeleteThere is no "bad" kind of precut ;), so it's hard to pick a favorite. But I do love those little charm quares-- I guess for today, those are my fav. (I reserve the right to change my mind at any time based on whatever pattern happens to be in front of me, lol)

ReplyDeleteI have a few layer cakes, getting ready to use them. I am a new quilter, but this seems to be a good size. Merry Christmas. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
ReplyDeleteI tend to purchase mostly fat quarters or charm packs. Charm packs are a great way to get the fabrics from an entire collection for not very much money! Plus they're a great size to sew together and get a quick table topper. :)
ReplyDeleteI am actually not a fan of precuts. They seem so pricey for what you get, and there never seems to be a big enough piece for what I want. So I opt for FQs, HYs, and full yardage. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never met a layer cake that I didn't like!

ReplyDeleteI love charm packs for crib-sized quilts, but I am planning to try a quick jelly roll quilt soon.
